For nearly thirty years, we have been providing the full spectrum of medical dermatology and dermatologic surgery services in Bay Ridge and the West Village. Our identity as The Skin Institute of New York reflects our expertise in all aspects of cutaneous medicine and emphasizes our commitment to being a comprehensive dermatologic center. As Medical Director, Dr. Brancaccio’s reputation in the medical community and his dedication to patient care remain the driving force of The Skin Institute’s philosophy.
At The Skin Institute of New York, we provide a wide range of dermatologic cosmetic procedures. We offer soft tissue augmentation with a variety of fillers such as Restylane® and Radiesse®, as well as BOTOX®, which is effective at reducing expression lines to create a more youthful appearance. The Skin Institute of New York is also a comprehensive cutaneous laser center. We have acquired several new lasers to enable us to effectively treat facial redness and telangectasias, birthmarks, age and sun spots, photodamage, tattoos, scars, as well as unwanted facial and body hair. New laser technology now allows us to treat psoriasis safely and effectively.
About Skin Institute of New York
Founded in 1979, The Skin Institute of New York has more than 30 years of experience providing the full spectrum of skin care; including medical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology.
We are able to diagnose and treat a wide variety of skin conditions, such as acne, eczema and psoriasis. In addition, we specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of skin allergies. Newer treatments, such as the Xtrac® laser for psoriasis often enable us to provide improved results to our patients.
With our expertise in cosmetic dermatology, we are able to minimize unwanted scars, blemishes, hair, tattoos and sun spots. Lasers, fillers, and BOTOX® are just a few of the treatment options we provide for dramatic results.
Several studies have reported associations between dairy consumption and acne. A new case-control study used three 24-hour diet recall phone interviews to evaluate dietary intake, validated software for data collection, and dermatologist assessment of acne severity. An association was found between acne and higher consumption of low-fat or skim milk, comparing 120 teenagers with moderate facial acne and 105 teenagers without acne.
The appearance of your skin’s texture and tone can be greatly improved with the right treatment plan. Taking into account your goals, the Skin Institute of NY team may suggest any one or more of the following options: microdermabrasion, laser therapy, soft tissue fillers or other injectables, and topical medications. Our team of experts can also provide advice on diet, exercise, skin care, and general health, all of which can contribute to a more radiant and youthful appearance.
